The hunt for suspects involved in the shooting death of a man in suburban Brisbane has led police to a major car fire and a drug lab.
Two people of interest have been tracked down after a busy night for officers involving a clandestine drug lab in the suburb of Mackenzie and a car fire in Dutton park, as they chased leads relating to killing of a 38-year-old man in Oxley on Tuesday.
A 26-year-old man identified as a "significant person of interest" was taken into custody on unrelated charges overnight.
Five other people were also found at the home containing the drug lab, who are in custody.
A vehicle of interest was one of seven destroyed by fire at a Dutton Park unit complex.
Police believe the car was set alight in the carport before the fire spread, prompting an evacuation.
Last night's progress follows a 26-year-old woman being taken into custody on Tuesday, also on unrelated matters.
She remains in custody.
Detective Superintendent Andrew Massingham said his two main people of interest were with police.
"I'd consider one of those persons to be our primary offender," he said on Thursday.
"I'm confident that any others that were present on that night, we'll be able to work through and get a resolution of that today or tomorrow."
No charges have been laid in relation to the shooting.
The 38-year-old man died after being shot in the chest at close range at the home in Oxley early on Tuesday morning.
Det Supt Massingham previously said four men and a woman, armed with a shotgun and potentially a handgun, were involved in the attack.
The man was reportedly sitting in a car when the five turned up and assaulted another man who lived at the home.
It's believed the victim then got out of his car and started running to the man's aid when he was shot.
The second man suffered minor injuries and was questioned by police.
Officers are probing a dispute between the two men and the five suspects one to two weeks before the shooting.
