NSW's struggles have continued early on day one of their Sheffield Shield match against Queensland in Brisbane.
The Blues lost wickets at regular intervals to be 5-173 at tea on Tuesday after being given first use of the wicket by the home side.
Four NSW batters were dismissed in the 20s and 30s, including heavy-scoring opener Daniel Hughes (21).
Other batters who failed to build on a start were Kurtis Patterson (31), Moises Henriques (23) and Jason Sangha (34).
Matthew Gilkes (38no) and Hayden Kerr (17no) were unbeaten at the interval.
The winless NSW need a victory to maintain a slim hope of reaching next month's Shield final.
Queensland shared the spoils with five different wicket-takers, including a debut scalp for spinner Jack Sinfield (1-19).
The Queenslanders are one of four states sharing second spot in the Shield standings with two further rounds to be played.
