Content warning: Alleged child abuse
A Queensland mummy blogger, known for sharing her baby daughter’s supposed medical battles, is now at the centre of a shocking investigation.
The high-profile mother-of-four, who amassed thousands of followers by documenting her child’s health struggles and reportedly raised $62,000 through GoFundMe, has finally broken her silence.
In a brief phone interview with 9News, the influencer, who can’t be named for legal reasons, was tight-lipped about the situation. “It is so unfair and it’s getting addressed at the moment with the proper counsel,” she said.
When asked about shutting down her social media accounts, she replied, “I can’t speak too much. I will get my lawyer to contact you. I do really appreciate the call.”
The reporter pressed on, asking if she had harmed her daughter. The blogger’s response was firm: “I can’t talk to you, I’ve said this is a matter that cannot be spoken on.”
Queensland Police confirmed they’re investigating the case in a statement to PEDESTRIAN.TV.
“The Queensland Police Service has taken action to protect the child and commenced an investigation. As this is an active investigation, it would be inappropriate to provide further comment,” a spokesperson shared.
South Brisbane District Chief Superintendent Andrew Pilotto described the investigation as “protracted and complicated” at a press conference. He added, “It will take a bit of time, but I can assure you the child is safe, whilst that investigation is ongoing.”
The allegations began circulating online after an unverified text message claimed the baby was being drugged by one or both parents. It also suggested that the child’s brain surgery “found nothing”, but a toxicology report allegedly showed high levels of benzodiazepines — a type of sedative.
A GoFundMe spokesperson told P.TV they’re investigating the fundraiser and working with the police.
No charges have yet been laid.
