A Queensland police officer allegedly more than three times the legal alcohol limit while on duty has been charged with drink-driving after being involved in a two-vehicle crash that injured two people.
A 41-year-old senior constable from Operations Support Command allegedly had a blood alcohol level of 0.177 while working at Yamanto outside Ipswich in southeast Queensland.
Police will allege the officer was involved in a two-vehicle traffic crash in Bladon Street at 8.10pm on Wednesday, January 4.
The driver and passenger from the other vehicle received non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment and observation.
The male senior constable returned an alleged Blood Alcohol Concentration of 0.177 per cent, police said.
He was immediately stood down from duty and is expected to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court on February 1.
"In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct," police said in a statement.
