In February 2024, Bridgewater announced his retirement from the NFL after 10 seasons.
Bridgewater transitioned to coaching, leading Miami (Florida) Northwestern to a state title last Saturday.
What will Bridgewater do for his next act? It turns out that Bridgewater plans to return to the NFL and could sign with a team within the next few weeks.
“We’ll see how [the] next week and a half, two weeks play out, might be signing with a team or something,” Bridgewater said on Tuesday’s edition of The Insiders when asked about a potential NFL comeback. “And then returning back to coach high school football in February. So, we’ll see.
“That’s the plan. My team knows that’s the plan,” Bridgewater continued. “We wanted to win a state championship and then coach goes back to the league, see what happens, and then come back February in the offseason, continue coaching high school football. We’ll see how it plays out.”
