QB runs, QB injuries up in 2022

The Arizona Cardinals know about quarterback injuries. Kyler Murray missed time with a hamstring injury and then saw his season end with a torn ACL.

In 2022, there were more quarterback injuries than in the past and it correlates with quarterback runs.

This bit of data was shared by Judy Battista.

There were more designed quarterback runs than ever in 2022. There were a record number of quarterback sneaks and the second-most scrambles in league history.

69 different quarterbacks were used in 2022 as well, also an all-time high.

Having a mobile quarterback is becoming more and more a necessity but it also appears that it is leading to more injuries.

Murray’s hamstring injury and ACL injury both came on quarterback runs.

What does this mean?
