Over the next six weeks, there are going to be several quarterbacks mentioned in connection with the Raiders. Justin Fields was mentioned on Wednesday via ESPN as a potential trade target. But what other quarterbacks could the Raiders target?
In a recent article by Pro Football Focus, they named the top free-agent quarterbacks and potential landing spots this offseason. One name that was mentioned in connection with the Raiders was Jacoby Brissett, who last played with the Washington Commanders.
Here is a snippet of why they believe he could be a target for the Raiders next month:
The Raiders no longer have a head coach and general manager with Patriots connections, but Brissett makes sense nonetheless. In New England, Brissett of course has a ton of connections, and he could serve as a great bridge to the future in the place where he got his career started.
Brissett isn’t a long-term solution for the Raiders, but he likely would be an upgrade over a second-year Aidan O’Connell. He would be a very cheap option that could give the Raiders more stable quarterback play.
While this wouldn’t be the ideal situation for the Raiders, it would give them a solid option at the position until they can figure out something else. Look for Brissett to be a fallback option for the Raiders in free agency should they strike out on Kirk Cousins, Justin Fields, or Baker Mayfield.
