QB Anthony Richardson on Colts first Week 17 injury report

Anthony Richardson popped up on the Indianapolis Colts injury report on Wednesday as a non-participant.

Richardson was listed on the injury report with a back and foot injuries.

The Colts did not hold an official practice on Wednesday but instead did a walkthrough. So this first injury report is an estimation on each player’s participation had there been a traditional practice.

Richardson would miss Weeks 5 and 6 earlier in the season due to injury but otherwise has played in five straight games and seven of the last nine, with the two games missed against Minnesota and Buffalo being non-injury related.

Despite popping up on this week’s injury report, Richardson did play all 62 offensive snaps against the Tennessee Titans this past Sunday. However, since returning to the starting lineup in Week 11, he’s been utilized in the run game more often, which leads to more contact.

”From the start of the season, you’re going to feel those hits the next day,” said Richardson on Tuesday. “It’s kind of weird because I was telling my family, like in college I didn’t really get sore. But NFL, it’s a different breed, different game. You have some grown men out there playing football, so it’s always a little different getting tackled by those guys. But it’s all part of it. You just have to keep adjusting and keep your body right so you can keep performing.”

Up next for the Colts, whose playoff hopes are still alive, is a matchup with the New York Giants. This season, Richardson has completed 48% of his passes at 6.9 yards per rush with eight touchdowns to 12 interceptions. He’s also rushed for 499 yards and six rushing touchdowns as well.
