Listen, we all do what we do because we love it. Riding bikes, quads, PWCs, and all other sorts of powersports vehicles is tons of fun, and is one of the most awesome things known to man. But of course, as is the case with all things in life, there’s a proper way to behave when doing these things.
In essence, it’s very simple. All you have to do is behave like a decent human being.
That’s to say, don’t be an asshole. Don’t be like this dude, who intentionally got really close to this fisherman who was just chilling on the water, minding his own business, and trying to have a good time. The douchebag, in fact, got so close that he caused the fisherman to fall out of his kayak and into the water.
Luckily, the guy on the kayak, who goes by TikTok handle coastalfloats, managed to capture everything on video. Naturally, the logical thing to do was to post it online in an attempt to somehow find the culprit.
@coastalfloats So this happened today. Guy left me bobbing in the intercoastal. Wear your lifevest!

It wasn’t long after that comments on coastalfloats’ video started flooding in, a lot of them pointing to one dude, who apparently, has quite the reputation in the local PWC scene. The man in question? Floridaman Phillip Bunch—and it’s clear that what he did to coastalfloats is a bunch of bullshit. You see, not only did he knock coastalfloats clean off his kayak, but he also caused quite a lot of damage. Around $4,000 worth of equipment, including an expensive camera.
So yeah, while all this may have seemed like fun and games for Bunch, well, it cost coastalfloats quite a bit of dough, and not to mention the hassle, inconvenience, and stress of having to replace all his broken equipment.
As for Bunch, well, authorities were quick to act, as he was arrested and charged with felony criminal mischief and battery. He was also hit with five additional charges such as failure to report a boat vessel accident, fleeing the scene of an accident, reckless operation, evading law enforcement, and domestic battery. But the plot thickens.
After doing some digging, coastalfloats was able to uncover some pretty sketchy details about Phillip Bunch. Apparently, Bunch has been arrested before, and not just once, but a total of 35 times. A lot of those arrests had to do with domestic battery, reckless and intoxicated driving, as well as a 2022 charge for methamphetamine trafficking—seriously, what the actual fuck?
@coastalfloats Part 2. Both of us have consequences.

Clearly, this guy has no business riding a PWC—heck, he has no business being out in public. Behind bars is where he belongs, and I find it surprising that he isn’t incarcerated in some prison at the moment. Reports suggest that Bunch is no longer in custody as of the moment, and it isn’t clear what the next steps are regarding his case.
All we can hope for is that justice will be served swiftly.
And as for the rest of the powersports-loving public, well, all I can say is let’s just do what we love doing and not give anyone any shit for doing so. Here in the Philippines, we have a saying “walang basagan ng trip.” This essentially means “different strokes for different folks,” or to “each their own” but in a much more imperative tone. So why can’t we just enjoy our own hobbies and passions in peace?
