Financial services group PwC has created a brand new team at its Birmingham office focused on capital markets, account advisory and structuring.
The role of the team includes helping clients through change, whether that be related to accounting, financial reporting issues or preparing for a stock market float.
Having previously been solely a London-based team, the move marks the first time the firm's service has been delivered by staff based outside of the capital.
The 17-strong team is a mix of accounting professionals recruited largely from the West Midlands and is based at the firm's offices in One Chamberlain Square at the Paradise project.
Tom Kirkham, PwC Midlands lead for the capital markets, account advisory and structuring team, said: "The Midlands is the heart of the country and was strategically selected to house the team due to its proximity to a fantastic range of industries and companies outside of the City, and the young, vibrant local workforce in the region.
"There is a wealth of knowledge and talent within the region so building the team here enables us to provide employment opportunities and the skills that will benefit both our clients and communities.
"We have already established a fantastic team here in the region delivering excellent service to our clients and we are excited by what the future holds as we continue to grow."
