Russian President Vladmir Putin made a statement on Thursday declaring Moscow's entitlement to use weapons against military targets of countries that permit their weapons to be used against Russia. The President's remarks came in response to recent attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on Russian territories.
Putin stated that the Ukrainian Armed Forces launched six US-made ATACMS missiles at targets in Russia's Bryansk region on Tuesday, followed by firing British-French Storm Shadow systems at the Kursk region. He emphasized that these actions have escalated the conflict in Ukraine to a global level.
The President highlighted that using such advanced weaponry without the direct involvement of military specialists from the countries that produce them is unacceptable. He warned that Russia reserves the right to retaliate against the military facilities of nations that allow their weapons to be used against Russian facilities.
Putin assured that Russian air defense systems successfully repelled both attacks, resulting in no casualties or significant damage. He concluded by stating that in the face of further aggressive actions, Russia will respond decisively and proportionately.
