Putin ally says West will be 'reduced to ashes' if Russia loses Ukraine 'holy war'

An outspoken ally of Vladimir Putin has claimed the West will be "reduced to ashes" if Russia does not win its war with Ukraine. State TV presenter Vladimir Solovyov also said Ukraine and its allies are waging war "with God", adding that "their end is certain" if they emerge victorious.

The chilling remarks were made by the Rossiya 1 host during a TV clip which was posted and translated by the Russian Media Mentor on Saturday (December 17), the Daily Star reports. Solovyov said: "We live in latter days. What's happening in Ukraine won't stay in Ukraine.

"A holy war is underway. We're fighting for the right of mankind to live in its original state, as designed by the Creator.

"Those fools who are trying to fight they aren't fighting against us, they're at war with God. In case of their victory, their end is certain.

"When I say that either we win, or the whole world will be reduced to ashes, this also has another meeting. How can humanity that fights against God continue to exist?"

Former US president Donald Trump, his successor Joe Biden, and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy were also referenced during his furious outburst. He said: "Look at Zelenskyy's face. Look at Biden's face, an absolutely deceitful, nasty, scary no-good person.

"He isn't like Trump. Why was Trump out of favor? Because he is totally traditional, at least in some ways. Trump's traditional character provoked hatred.

"If you think about what's happening. It's Satanism. They're purely demonic, you can't put it any other way."

The TV personality is known as a mouthpiece for the Russian president who frequently peddles pro-war propaganda. He is understood to be close with Putin and received the Order of Honour from him in 2013.

He also has a history of defending Putin's threats of nuclear war. The latest example of this came during in a clip where he referenced the Biblical cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, which God is said to have destroyed because of their evil residents.

Solovyov said: "When people are trying to tell me about whether nuclear weapons can be used or not, I will respond to that briefly and clearly, 'do you remember this part of Biblical history?' Sodom and Gomorrah?'"
