Puppy run over and killed by men trying to steal owner's phone

A young cockapoo was hit by a car and died as three men attempted to steal his owner's phone. Milo, who was 11 months old, was killed at around 10.45pm on Monday as the man was walking his twin dogs in London Road, West Kingsdown, Kent.

According to Kent Police, a grey Ford EcoSport drove past the man and his cockapoos, before returning on the wrong side of the road and pulling up next to them. The driver is then alleged to have demanded the man hand over his phone, while two other men with weapons got out of the car.

He ran away but in doing so lost control of one of the lead of one of his dogs. Milo then ran to a nearby pavement where he was struck by the vehicle.

He died at the scene. The car, meanwhile, drove off towards the M25.

Kent Police are asking anyone with information to call 01622 604100, quoting crime reference 46/191975/22. Detectives are also asking nearby drivers with dashcams and residents with CCTV to see if they have any footage that may help.
