A Lanarkshire high school hosted a showcase of a project aimed at marking the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the new town of East Kilbride.
The event at Calderglen High School shared pupils' learning across a range of subjects and was attended by members of the local community.
Pupils from all year groups at Calderglen were joined by pupils from the feeder primaries within the high school's cluster.
Youngsters had been involved in a range of subjects to develop their understanding of their own local history.
And at the showcase, former East Kilbride News reporter and TV star, Lorraine Kelly, who was a pupil at Claremont High was able to share her own experience of growing up in East Kilbride, with a short video she had kindly prepared.
During the project S2 students at Calderglen came off timetable for the day to learn about their home town and pupils looked at three different areas throughout the day in humanities, the historic village of East Kilbride, slum housing conditions in Glasgow, and then the development of the new town of East Kilbride.
History teacher at Calderglen High, Gary MacPherson, who along with colleague, Emma Blaker, headed up the project said: "Senior pupils also worked with the local librarian at EK Central Library and visited the library to get hands-on with primary sources, which were then shared with their peers.
"These pupils were also involved in interviewing senior members of the community who visited Calderglen High to share their own stories of growing up in the new town of East Kilbride.
"The enthusiasm of the pupils throughout and at the showcase itself was excellent and they had a great understanding of their community and its history.
"They were able to engage with a range of guests including local councillors, a representative from the office of MP Dr Lisa Cameron, and representatives from the education department of South Lanarkshire Council."
During the project S1 pupils also carried out a research activity in class on East Kilbride before 1947.
Pupils then produced posters and fact files to share their learning with the community.
And primary pupils also attended the showcase to share their own work.
P7s researched famous people and well known places in East Kilbride and had then designed detailed information posters to present their findings.
The project also involved some impressive art work by pupils who firstly went out into the community to take pictures as part of the schools Higher photography course and S3 masterclass in photography.
These photos were displayed for guests, capturing a unique perspective on East Kilbride.
Pupils then had completed a range of art work including paintings and drawings based on their own photography.
