AAP MLA Somnath Bharti is seeking a fourth term from the Malviya Nagar assembly seat. He is up against BJP’s Satish Upadhyay and Congress’s Jitender Kumar Kochar.
Bharti claims that he has never been inaccessible and stays in touch with the electorate through over 140 WhatsApp groups. On his infamous 2014 raid in Khirki Extension, the MLA says that drug trafficking cases have reduced since then in the area. And asked about broken roads in some pockets, he says it has been only two years of AAP in the MCD.
Bharti also speaks about the BJP’s allegations about the misuse of Punjab state machinery, the Yamuna clean-up, and the AAP’s ties with the Congress. On the BJP alleging that Punjab registered vehicles in Delhi could pose a national security problem, Bharti says, “Punjabis will teach the BJP a lesson.”
