BATHINDA: After the gruesome murder of Punjabi singer Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu aka Sidhu Moose Wala, now his father Balkaur Singh has been receiving threats on Instagram and through messages on WhatsApp from Pakistani numbers.
As per reports, a post has been received by one of the fans of Sidhu Moose Wala on his Instagram account where it has been mentioned that the next number is of "bapu (father), save him".
Balkaur Singh has also been getting threats and messages directly on WhatsApp.
It is learnt that in the light of the threats, his security has been further beefed up.
Balkaur Singh had been speaking against the gangsters after his son was killed on May 29.
On Thursday, he went to Amritsar to identify the bodies of two gangsters Manpreet Mannu and Jagroop Roopa killed in an encounter on Wednesday.
He had said that by killing two persons, his son will not be back but justice has to be delivered.
Balkaur Singh, while confirming the threats, has said that he will not back out and doesn't fear such threats and his aim is to see justice for his son.
When contacted, Mansa senior superintendent of police Gaurav Toora said that it was a random post on Instagram at the wall of a fan.
"We are verifying the authenticity and ever since the incident of the killing of Sidhu Moose Wala, the security of the family has been beefed up. The separate security has also been put at the residence."
He also said that the police have got some leads about shooter Deepak Mundi and hope to soon apprehend him.
He is alone out of six who are still out of the reach of police as three have been arrested while two have been neutralised in the encounter.
