Punjab CM criticises Centre on picking Amritsar to land deportees plane

Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has slammed the Centre on picking Amritsar to land another flight carrying deported Indians from US. 

'Smear Campaign'
He accused the Centre of maligning the image of the state, saying the Centre is running a smear campaign against the state.

"I have already raised this issue with the MEA and the Home Ministry, but I haven’t received a satisfactory response. The US Army plane carrying 104 deportees had also landed a few days ago, and now two more are being sent here without any justification," he said.

"If plane carrying Ex-Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina could land at Hindon Air Force Station and Rafale jets could land in Ambala, then whyy these deportation flights cannot land in Amritsar?" he questioned.
