Pundit says Nottingham Forest 'got away with' it against Leeds United

Sky Sports pundit Graeme Souness has delivered his verdict on Nottingham Forest after they beat Leeds United on Sunday.

Forest held on in the first half after Brennan Johnson's early goal gave Forest the lead. The win has left Leeds supporters furious, demanding their manager Jesse Marsch be relieved of his duties as they hover above the Premier League relegation zone.

Analysing the match on Sky Sports, Souness said Forest "rode their luck" in the first half and admitted he was "disappointed" by opponents Leeds United. It was a "great" result for Forest, he said, with the Reds now back up to 13th in the league table.

"They rode their luck in the first half. Better in the second half," Souness said of Forest.

"I thought Leeds were disappointing. A lot of huff and puff but no end product. The quality wasn't there when it mattered. It was great for Forest.

"They dug in, held on. They didn't play very well, not by their standards at home, but they got away with it."

Talking about Brennan Johnson's goal, fellow pundit Micah Richards said: "It's a brilliant goal. The way he keeps his head down and over the ball. A brilliant finish. A lot of strikers get into that position and smash but you see the technique - he keeps his eye on the ball. Wonderful."
