Amad Diallo earned rave reviews after making an instant impact on his Rangers debut.
The Manchester United teenager was handed his first start for the Scottish champions against Ross County after making the move to Ibrox on loan earlier this week, and he couldn’t have made a finer start for his new club.
The 19-year-old scored just four minutes into his debut, tapping home at the back post from Joe Aribo’s cross to immediately enamour himself to his new supporters.
And after Rangers fell 2-1 down before the break, Amad played a big hand in getting the visitors back level, with his stinging shot being parried into the path of James Tavernier to turn home the rebound.
Amad was forced off just after the hour-mark after picking up a knock, with Rangers going on to take the lead through Connor Goldson, but they couldn’t hold on for their victory as Ross County equalised deep into stoppage time to earn a point.
Nevertheless, it was Amad who grabbed a lot of the attention on the day as he earned had both United and Rangers fans purring, with former Scotland international James McFadden raving about his performance afterwards.
“I like the look of him,” McFadden told Sky Sports.
“He gets in the right place, he makes a good run for his goal which is an easy finish for him.
“But you can see him telling players where he wants the ball, and when you’re playing as a wide man, he looks like he wants to get on the ball, he wants to take players on.
“He recognises ‘if I get in at the back post, I get a tap-in’, and he just goes in at pace. He’s onside, but it’s the run and the desire to get in at the back post.
“I thought he showed glimpses he could be a really good player for Rangers.”
