We’re 16 weeks into the 2023 regular season and Puka Nacua has been voted the top rookie in a quarter of them. The NFL announced on Thursday that Nacua has been named the Pepsi Rookie of the Week for his performance against the Saints in Week 16.
It’s the fourth time he’s won the award this season, the most of any player in the NFL. The front-runner for Rookie of the Year, C.J. Stroud, has only won the award twice this season.
Nacua caught nine passes for a career-high 164 yards and a touchdown in the Rams’ win over the Saints last week. It was his sixth game with at least 100 yards receiving, which is tops among all rookies.
With two weeks to play, he has 1,327 yards, closing in on Bill Groman’s rookie record of 1,473 yards, which was set way back in 1960.
