Puka Nacua loved LeBron James’ shoutout after breaking rookie record

Puka Nacua couldn’t have expected his rookie year to go much better than it has. He’s already had five 100-yard games, has topped 1,000 yards in just 12 starts and he now owns the single-season rookie receiving record in Rams history after breaking it on Sunday.

After etching his name in the record books again, Nacua got a shoutout from LeBron James on Twitter, congratulating him on his accomplishment.

Obviously, Nacua didn’t miss that post from James, who he’s a huge fan of, and he even considered setting it as the wallpaper on his phone.

“I’m a huge LeBron fan, so stuff like that definitely doesn’t go over my head,” Nacua said Wednesday, via the Los Angeles Times. “I said in a group chat … if my girlfriend wasn’t my screensaver then LeBron posting would be.”

James was actually in attendance for the Rams-Browns game, so he saw Nacua break the record in person. This isn’t the first time LeBron has recognized Nacua, either. In a video earlier this season, he called the Rams receiver by his nickname, Puka Doncic, while praising the rookie.

Nacua went from being a fifth-round pick to a potential Pro Bowler getting congratulatory messages from LeBron James. It’s been quite the season for Puka thus far, to say the least.
