A man has been spotted running an entire marathon while chain- smoking cigarettes - and he even managed to get a competitive time. The man, affectionately known as 'Uncle Chen', ran the whole 26.2 miles with a tailor-made cigarette hanging out the corner of his mouth.
For many this would have slowed them down, but the 50-year-old managed to finish the event in a respectable three hours, 28 minutes and 45 seconds. Images of Uncle Chen running the Xin'anjiang Marathon in Jiande, China have gone viral online, as people can't believe he managed to complete the distance while smoking, or without running out of cigarettes.

After images of Uncle Chen went viral online, the group that organised the marathon shared his final times, and an image of the certificate he received for finishing the race.
He came 574th out of around 1,500, which may be because this isn't his first marathon - in 2018 he completed the Guangzhou marathon in three hours and 36 minutes, and then in 2019 he did the Xiamen marathon in three hours and 32 minutes.
This means that not only is he smoking while running - but he's getting quicker each time.
Little else is known about Uncle Chen or his running prowess, but event organisers confirmed that smoking while competing isn't against the rules - probably because it slows most people down.
Meanwhile, an orangutan decided to put on a show recently and imitate her visitors by putting a stick in her mouth, pretending it was a cigarette.
The loving Sumatran orangutan - named Pretty - was snapped by photographer Syahrul Ramadan from Jakarta, Indonesia, doing the stunt during one of his visits to the animal park.
Amused by the orangutan, Syahrul decided to capture her antics with his Olympus OMD EM1 camera from 20 feet away.
The Sumatran orangutan is only found in the northern Indonesian island of Sumatra, and is one of the three species of orangutan that’s critically endangered.
