Puerto Rican Influencer Found Murdered After Sending Unusual Text and Disappearing from Georgia Walmart

Georgia law enforcement has recovered the body of a Puerto Rican fitness influencer who disappeared from Walmart last week after sending an unusual text.

Minelys Zoe Rodriguez-Ramirez, 25, was found dead one week after she was last seen at a Walmart in Cornelia, Georgia on Oct. 22.

Known as "Mimi" to her friends and family, Rodriguez-Ramirez sent a final text to her fiancé, Julio Tovor, that night, which read, "I am waiting for the brother to pick him up."

"It didn't make sense. She doesn't talk like that," Tovor told Now Habersham.

Following her disappearance, her car was found abandoned near Walmart, with witnesses reporting sightings of a dark SUV and a gold or yellow mini-van nearby. The Habersham County Sheriff's Office and other investigators collected local surveillance footage and pursued numerous leads in a desperate search for Rodriguez-Ramirez.

Authorities confirmed that Angel DeJesus Rivera-Sanchez, 24, was arrested in Atlanta and charged with her murder. He is being held without bond in Habersham County Detention Center. It's unclear if he and the victim knew each other.

Rodriguez-Ramirez, who moved to Georgia from Puerto Rico six years ago, had 27,000 followers on TikTok, where she frequently shared fitness routines and stories about her 9-year-old daughter, who lives with her father in Puerto Rico.

Her family has organized a GoFundMe in hopes of laying Rodriguez-Ramirez to rest in Puerto Rico.
