A further 7,195 new cases of Covid have been confirmed in Scotland within the last 24 hours.
Data has been published by the Scottish Government and Public Health Scotland (PHS) this afternoon as part of the national Covid-19 daily briefing.
Nationally, there are 1,041 patients with the disease being treated in hospital which is a reduction of 52 from yesterday's reported figure. There are currently 11 people being treated in ICUs.
The number of newly-reported positive coronavirus cases recorded by NHS Ayrshire & Arran has increased by 453. Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 93,636 positive tests in the region and 1,369,385 million across Scotland.
Of the new cases reported, 191 were in North Ayrshire, 139 attributed to South Ayrshire and 128 in East Ayrshire.
As a result of the historical update in terms of Public Health Scotland's rolling seven-day infection rate per 100,000 population, the Shetland Islands has the highest rate in the country – at 2,063.8 as of Monday, February 21.
The Orkney Islands has the second-highest infection rate at 1,700.9 while Inverclyde is third with 956.4.
In terms of Ayrshire's thee local authorities, East Ayrshire has the highest rate of 682.6; South Ayrshire's rate stands at 677.7 while North Ayrshire's is 633.9.
A total of 16 of Scotland's 32 council regions have an infection rate below the national average of 794.7.

Another 16 deaths mean 10,645 people have passed away since March 2020.
However, data from the National Records of Scotland (NRS) shows 13,235 deaths had been registered up to Sunday, February 20 where the disease was mentioned on the death certificate.
Across the UK, the figure is 160,979 as of last night and 182,609 with Covid mentioned on the death certificate.
There are 88 patients with the disease being treated in Ayrshire hospitals, up two from yesterday, and fewer than five people in ICUs.
Nationally, a total of 4,433,961 people have received one dose of a Covid vaccine; 4,154,182 are double jabbed and 3,415,942 people have received a third dose/booster.
