Public asked to share views on a potential Lanarkshire housing development

An online consultation will be made available next week for the public to share views on a potential housing development in East Kilbride.

The consultation will go live on Monday (June 11) and seeks to gather local views on a residential development at Thornton Farm in East Kilbride which is being proposed by Bellway Homes Ltd (Scotland West).

To take part in the consultation, visit Thornton Farm Development, and the website also provides information on the proposed plans for the farm.

Planners are looking for views of the local community and will welcome any feedback on the development as they progress towards submitting an application for planning permission to South Lanarkshire Council in the coming months.

The website will be available between July 11 and August 8 and an interactive consultation will take place at the end of this month.

An online consultation has been launched as opposed to a face-to-face session due to Scottish Government Guidance. Planners welcome feedback on via the form which will go live next week or via email to consultation@georgebuchananarchitects.co.uk.

Planners have submitted a Proposal of Application Notice to the council which advises how they intend to engage with the community about their proposal, the consultation forms part of this engagement and allows locals to share their thoughts.
