A rude customer left a pub worker in tears after fuming about the lack of Sunday dinners available.
The diner said they were left "extremely disappointed" after visiting The Junction in Birmingham for a 76th birthday meal.
Taking to Tripadvisor, the disgruntled guest said there were "hardly any Sunday roasts left" when they arrived and further complained about the "rude staff, lack of accountability and immature outlook from the managers".
The pub and eatery is located Harborne's High Street and has 3.5 rating on the travel site with nearly 350 reviews - many of which are positive.
One recent customer praised the venue's "great food, super staff and lovely atmosphere", while another left a glowing review of the "proper roast dinner", Birmingham Live reports.
But this particular reviewer shared their negative thoughts after their visit in a their review on Tripadvisor. Their headline said: "No roasts, hardly any choice on the menu at 4pm on Sunday - why did you take a birthday booking for 12 people?"
They said in their review: "Arrived for our father’s 76th birthday celebration to be told that there was hardly any Sunday roasts left, let alone other food on the menu to choose from.
"Rude staff, lack of accountability and immature outlook from the managers and poorly judged customer service all round. Extremely disappointing.
"Naïve business sense and embarrassing for all involved. We have been drinking in this pub for years, wanted to show loyalty by making a dinner booking, expected great things and to experience this today was low moment for The Junction."
But the general manager at The Junction, named as Helen, chose to respond to the negative criticism on the website - condemning the rude behaviour of the party. They said the treatment of the staff left one worker in tears - and that "this kind of behaviour isn't tolerated".
The response said: "Hi. Unfortunately on the day of your visit we didn't have our chicken roast available, due to supply chain issues this was out of our hands.
"However we did have other roast options and our normal menu dishes available as your server tried to explain to you at your table.
"I'm really disappointed to see you've commented about our team being rude. Throughout your short visit to us the team tried their best to provide you with the great service we offer to all of our guests, however your treatment towards the team left one of them in tears and the rest discouraged by your attitude towards them.
"This kind of behaviour towards the team isn't tolerated as I explained to you on the day, and certainly won't be welcomed in the future. Regards, Helen."
The Junction has 347 reviews on Tripadvisor - more than 200 of them branded 'excellent' or 'very good'. One review said: "Been in the Junction for lunch and had an Asian style fried chicken wrap from the lunch meal. Only £9 for sandwich, side and soft drink!! What a bargain!
"Service from Dan, Brendon and Tom was great. I went in on my own and they looked after me from the start, they advice me to get the wrap as I was looking for a light bite and it was excellent. Highly recommend!"
Eve said: "We had a nice time and it was a perfect place to pop in for dinner and drinks with friends. It had a lovely atmosphere and beautiful architecture."
While Laura added: "Proper Sunday roast dinner in a character pub. Great menu, something for everyone; roast chicken, pork belly, beef, nut roast for the vegetarian.
"Friendly, helpful staff. All-in-all, an enjoyable experience."
