Pub staff were left in tears after one customer ripped into them for not having any Sunday roasts available for a birthday booking for 12 people. The diner had made the reservation to celebrate a relative's 76th but left a savage review online after things failed to live up to expectations.
The critique of The Junction in Birmingham was posted on TripAdvisor and began with the headline: "No roasts, hardly any choice on the menu at 4pm on Sunday - why did you take a birthday booking for 12 people?" It added, "Arrived for our father’s 76th birthday celebration to be told that there was hardly any Sunday roasts left, let alone other food on the menu to choose from.
" Rude staff, lack of accountability and immature outlook from the managers and poorly judged customer service all round. Extremely disappointing."

It added, "Naïve business sense and embarrassing for all involved. We have been drinking in this pub for years, wanted to show loyalty by making a dinner booking, expected great things and to experience this today was low moment for The Junction."
The pub's general manager at The Junction, named as Helen, then chose to respond to the negative write-up, condemning the rude behaviour of the party. She said their treatment of staff had left one worker in tears, reports Birmingham Live.
"Unfortunately on the day of your visit we didn't have our chicken roast available - due to supply chain issues this was out of our hands," Helen wrote. "However we did have other roast options and our normal menu dishes available as your server tried to explain to you at your table.
"I'm really disappointed to see you've commented about our team being rude. Throughout your short visit to us the team tried their best to provide you with the great service we offer to all of our guests.
"However your treatment towards the team left one of them in tears and the rest discouraged by your attitude. This kind of behaviour isn't tolerated as I explained to you on the day and it certainly won't be welcomed in the future."
The Junction, which located on the High Street of Harborne has been independently reviewed nearly 350 times online. It regularly receives positive reviews on the TripAdvisor website - while their service, food and value has been given a rating of 3.5 out of five.
One recent reviewer described it as "great food, super staff and a lovely atmosphere." Another heaped praise on the venue for serving a "proper roast dinner."
