Local officials and police raided a restaurant pub in Hat Yai and arrested 24 people on Monday night for breaking Covid-19 restrictions on Valentine's Day.

The raid on Feeling Hatyai pub followed complaints from nearby residents about the loud music being played there.

Police found the place was packed with customers eating, drinking and dancing to live music played on the stage.

Twenty-four customers and employees were arrested and charged with violating Covid-19 restrictions.

The operator was charged with running the business without a permit.

Covid-19 restrictions are still in place in Songkhla where the number of infections is surging - with 157 new cases recorded on Monday.
