The owner of a Bewdley pub has responded sassily to a customer who complained about "tasteless and awful" food on TripAdvisor.
The Plough Inn diner in Far Forest claimed they were served drinks which were "flat and watery", a "tasteless" carvery and "biscuit worthy" Yorkshire puddings during a visit last month, reports Birmingham Live.
After mentioning "uncomfortable" cutlery, the review on Tripadvisor went on to say: "The ice cream was very icy, the lemon meringue filling like glue and the cream like water. We now understand why they take payment before feeding you...stay well clear!"
Pub owner Mike soon wrote a blistering response to the review, describing the comments as "b******t" and sarcastically disputing the claims.
He wrote: "Right then how do I address this unadulterated b*****t? Let’s say it as it is shall we.
"If we could rate you on Tripadvisor you would probably get three stars, maybe if you could have thought just that little bit harder (PROBLEM I SUPPOSE) and said you tripped up on the way in, then bumped your head on the beam to the restaurant, you would achieve the five star status!
"Now then I’ll notify Heineken that their Fosters lager has to much water in it and no bubbles. I’ll put a strong recommendation into our chefs, to change their recipes (even though they execute 10 thousand meals a month).
"I will ask McVities if they could give us there recipe for Yorkshire puddings. I’ll certainly advise Sheffield Steel that the cutlery is a bad design even though they’ve pioneered this design over the last 200 years (they will probably recommend you eat with a spade and a rake out of a bucket).
"Bennett’s ice cream will be a little bewildered as it’s an award winning ice cream. And finally I will inform BRAKEBROS not to use glue in their lemon meringue.
"Now then getting back to you - first review I notice. Come on WISE UP TO YOURSELF there’s more to life."
Speaking to WorcestershireLive, The Plough Inn said: "As a business, we accept reasonable criticism and utilise it as a teaching tool to enhance our food and customer service. We try our best to give a quality service and provide good quality food keeping it at a fair price (three courses for £12.00), for which many people travel.
"Reviews like this we feel are unfair, so Mark and the managers aren't afraid to reply and tell the customers that they aren't always right especially in a review like the one published by this customer.
"If a review is truthful and we are at fault, me and my team are all only human, we try our best to address the problem and rectify it with the customer."
The Plough Inn has hundreds of glowing reviews on Tripadvisor, with a rating of 3.5 stars. One recent review said: "The menu was amazing such a great choice, one of the best places I have eaten at."
