A pub has banned dogs indoors after claiming a member of staff was 'bitten'. The Kingfisher, in Greenfield, Saddleworth, made the announcement on social media and said that dogs were no longer allowed inside and would need to remain on a lead outside.
The Marston's venue, on Chew Valley Road, said the decision was 'not made lightly' and 'with a heavy heart' but that the move was made to keep staff and guests safe.
It went on to clear up that assistance dogs were still allowed inside and that, despite recognising 'not all dogs are the same', that they were taking the action to 'safeguard you all'.

The public Facebook post read: "Following an incident in the pub that has resulted in a member of the team being bitten by a dog, we have made the decision to no longer allow dogs inside the pub.
"This decision has not been made lightly, and is with a heavy heart, but we are sure you will understand that the safety and well-being of our team, and guests, is our number one priority. Assistance Dogs will of course still be allowed inside the pub.
"Whilst we understand that not all dogs are the same and many would never cause any harm, for the time being we are taking this action to safeguard you all. Thank you for your understanding on this matter.
"Dogs will still be welcome in the outside areas however will be required to remain on a lead." Marston's has been contacted for comment.
