Let's say that you've been taken by a serial killer and trapped in his home. The question is do you have what it takes to survive and escape? That's the basic premise being offered by upcoming title Psychopath Massacre. The game pretty much features intense survival tactics and combines it with psychological horror. It's already available on early access in Steam.
The game is actually being developed by a solo indie creator known as Galactic Crows. In a statement, the developer explained that the game was designed to be a "scare simulator" while having what can be described as Retro VHS quality graphics. All of these to enhance the already terrifying atmosphere. Adding in a layer of interactive realism is letting you use the microphone as a distraction or even trigger specific in-game events.
The developer went on to say that this early access phase is important since it's where player feedback can be integrated to refine the game even further. Since the game is in early access, it means players can look forward to planned improvements which in this case included enhanced enemy AI. There's also going to be additional rooms and puzzles and even more difficulty levels. The in-game shop is also going to be expanded in the future.
In the game, you wake up as the captive of the notorious serial killer George Dinescu. HIs murderous spree has long been terrorizing the region for more than a decade. The only tool available at your disposal is none other than a VHS camera. You'll need to use to document what's been happening to you. The game challenges you to solve puzzles and try to escape the house within a five-hour in-game time limit. While doing all of this, you'll have to avoid the deadly traps and evade Dinescu, who appears to have an acute sense of hearing.
