Psychiatric reports are to be prepared on a man accused of murdering his brother at a house in Swansea. The body of Martin Steel was found at an address in Hill View Crescent in Clase on Saturday, May 20. In a statement released by his family the 48-year-old was described as a "beloved son, father, grandfather, and nephew".
The discovery of the body led a large-scale police presence at the scene over the weekend and to the arrest of 38-year-old man Darren Steel, the deceased man's sibling. Steel, of Lon Camlad , Morriston, Swansea, was subsequently charged with murder and on Thursday he appeared in custody at Swansea Crown Court via videolink from prison.

Robin Rouch, for Steel, said the defendant had a "long psychiatric history" and he said a psychiatrist was being instructed to prepare a report on his client. A date for a plea and trial preparation hearing was set for July 14 and Steel was further remanded into custody until that date.
Following the death of Mr Steel his family paid tribute to their loved one. They said: "We as a family are deeply saddened by our sudden loss. Martin was a beloved son, father, grandfather, and nephew who will be greatly missed. At this time we would ask for respect for our privacy as we navigate this difficult time."
