A 36-year-old man pleaded guilty to robbery and having a table knife in Stanton Hill. Entering his pleas, Mark Kavanagh, of Brand Lane, Sutton-in-Ashfield, admitted both offences happened on November 23 last year.
No further details were heard about the offences after an adjournment was requested by Lesley Pidock, who represented Kavanagh at Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday (January 3). She will request a psychiatric assessment on her client.
Judge Nirmal Shant, King's Counsel, said the court would be assisted by an opening note about the case and asked for it to be listed for an hour at the next hearing. Addressing Kavanagh, she said the sentencing would be adjourned.

"Important information is missing," she said over a link to the courtroom to HMP Nottingham, where Kavanagh remains in custody. The information which is missing includes a report about Kavanagh and one in relation to the victim and the impact this has had on them.
"Because this is part of the sentencing exercise, she added. "So for those two reasons the case is adjourned until February 13, when all the information is available. You are remanded into custody".
Following inquiries, officers identified and arrested a suspect within 24 hours after the robbery was reported, reported Nottinghamshire Police at the time.
Detective Sergeant Matt Dumbrell, of Nottinghamshire Police, had said: "Violent crime and behaviour of this sort has no place in our communities and will not be tolerated. The officer in the case, Detective Constable Lionel Thursby, and Detective Constable Christopher Grundy conducted fantastic detective work and identified a suspect in quick time. A man has now been charged as a result of our investigation as he awaits the court process.
“As our work in this case demonstrates, the force treats robbery and knife crime extremely seriously. Our priority is to keep people safe which is why we will vigorously investigate reports of this kind and seek to put suspects before the court at the earliest opportunity."
