PSV technical director John de Jong has admitted he is unsure "how long" Cody Gakpo will remain at the club, amid links with Liverpool.
The Netherlands international was linked with a move away from his boyhood club throughout the January transfer window, after registering six goals and 10 assists in 15 league games.
It was reported by Dutch outlet Voetbal International last month that Gakpo had held “exploratory talks” with both Liverpool and Manchester City.
And De Jong has confessed that he does not know how long the 22-year-old will remain at PSV, despite the end of the January window and the forward recently signing a new contract until 2026.

“The interest started early in the season, when he performed well, also with the Dutch national team,” he told PSV TV, as reported by Sport Witness .
“My goal is to keep him for the season at all times. I don’t know how long we can keep him out of the hands of the big clubs in Europe. How he performs is the most important thing.
“That (his new contract) says a lot. A nice signal to players in the academy and in this group.
“The path that he goes through from youth player to important base player, to the second captain is beautiful. An example.”
Gakpo had also been linked with Bayern Munich and Arsenal in recent weeks, before signing a contract extension in the final days of January.
Upon signing his new deal, he said that his “clear mission” for the season was to win trophies with PSV.
However, prior to signing on the dotted line, the wide forward admitted that he was aware of several “interesting clubs” battling for his signature and refused to rule out a move in the future.
“It looks like I’m going to renew my contract,” Gakpo said. "The clubs that want something are also known to me, I’ve had conversations about that with my agent.
“Very interesting clubs have been added, but we have to look at what the first step is.”
