PSV drop team news hints ahead of Arsenal clash as Mikel Arteta set for scouting job

PSV may have dropped a potential team news hint ahead of tonight's fixture. Ruud van Nistelrooy's side will be hoping to take a huge step towards the knockout stages with victory at the Philips Stadion tonight.

Last week in the reverse fixture, the Gunners were 1-0 winners thanks to Granit Xhaka's late goal at the Emirates Stadium. The 1-0 win for the Gunners, thanks to Granit Xhaka's goal, confirmed their ticket to the knockout stages, and a repeat of the result will ensure they finish as group winners with three points against the Dutch side.

Both sides come into tonight's fixture on the back of disappointing results. Arsenal could not make their dominance pay against Southampton and were held to a 1-1 draw, while PSV fell to a shock 4-2 defeat to FC Groningen to lose ground on rivals Ajax in the Eredivisie.

Van Nistelrooy made two changes over the weekend, with starts handed to defender Jordan Teze and Anwar El-Ghazi. Teze played the whole game at right-back, but former Aston Villa man El-Ghazi was hooked off at half-time with Boeren 3-1 down. PSV struggled for opportunities in north London seven days ago, but the official club Instagram account may have hinted at how Van Nistelrooy attempts to change that.

In preparation for the match, the PSV social media page posted a matchday graphic with all the needed information on tonight's game. On the graphic, a picture of Madueke was posted, possibly hinting at a first start of the season for the England Under-21 international.

Madueke came on in the 65th minute in London last week, his first outing for PSV since the last day of last season. The former Spurs academy player clocked up another 45 minutes at the weekend and could be set to start from the off for the Dutch giants.

The 20-year-old winger fits the description of a priority for Edu and Arteta ahead of the January transfer window. He's fast, strong and injects panic into defenders with his direct running. Teammate Cody Gakpo had been linked with a move to England in the summer, but tonight's contest provides Madueke with the opportunity to place himself in the shop window.
