Police have made no arrests in relation to an attack in Co Down, despite stopping a car and discovering the potential weapon.

Officers say they received a report of an assault within the vicinity of Belfast Road, Downpatrick, shortly before 7.10pm on Tuesday, June 28. It was reported that a male who was jogging in the area was shot by someone from a car with a pellet believed to be from a BB gun.

He was struck once in the chest, causing a red mark. In a statement issued by the PSNI the next day, a spokesperson said: "A vehicle was later stopped by police in relation to the incident and searches were carried out. A BB gun and a small quantity of Class B controlled drugs were uncovered.
