PSNI investigation after teen 'suspiciously approached' in a South Belfast park

Police have launched an ivestigation following a report that a 'suspicious approach' was made to a teenager in a Belfast park this week.

The reported incident took place at around 12.20pm on Monday, May 8, in a park in the Upper Malone Road area when a man approached a teenager in the area.

He has been described as being in his early twenties, short in height and over an average build with brown hair and wearing blue jeans.

Police are asking anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area at that time to contact them.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police are investigating a report of a suspicious approach to a teenager in a park in the Upper Malone Road area of south Belfast on Monday, May 8.

"It was reported that at around 12.20pm, a man approached a teenage girl in the area. The man was described as being aged in his early twenties, short in height and of average build with brown hair and wearing blue jeans.

"Enquiries into this are ongoing and officers would appeal to anyone who noticed anything suspicious in the area or anyone with any information about this incident, to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 1612 of 08/05/23."
