PSNI dog set for happy retirement after saving lives of some of our most vulnerable

A much-loved police dog is set to retire after saving the lives of some of our most vulnerable people in Northern Ireland.

PD Janko is retiring after a successful career with the PSNI providing what police described as an "invaluable service".

The PSNI posted about Janko's retirement on social media, which gained a huge response from the general public wishing the pooch good luck.

In a statement on Facebook, Police in Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon, said: "PD Janko is retiring. After a very successful career he is finally putting his paws up and taking a well earned rest.

"Janko over the years has provided an invaluable service to your community apprehending offenders and saving lives of some of our most vulnerable people. Janko will retire to his handler and live a happy life as part of the family."
