PSNI attend scene of sudden death in Belfast city centre

Police have attended the scene of a sudden death in Belfast city centre.

A PSNI spokesperson said: "Police attended the scene of a sudden death in the Lombard Street area of Belfast shortly after 9.15pm on Thursday, June 9.

"Enquiries are ongoing."

Meanwhile, a man in his 50s has been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to danger life after a house fire in Antrim.

The blaze happened on Thursday evening, June 9, shortly before 5.05pm at Rathmore Gardens.

One male was taken to hospital for treatment for the effects of smoke inhalation.

PSNI Detective Sergeant McDowell said: “Our enquiries into the incident are continuing, and we are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time, or who has any information which could assist, to contact us on 101, and quote reference number 1342 of 09/06/22.”
