PSNI appeal to find missing Co Fermanagh parrot

Police in the Fermanagh area have urged the public to be on the lookout for a missing parrot.

Parry, an Eclectus parrot, went missing in the Lisbellaw area on Friday 14 April and his owners are keen to have him returned.

Police say Parry ‘tends to be more vocal’ in the early morning and evening time, and the public have been encouraged to listen out for any distinctive squaks and shrieks.

Parry has been described as emerald green in colour, with bright red feathers under his wings.

He was last seen in the vicinity of Rampart Lane, Lisbellaw at around 3pm on Friday.

Launching the appeal on social media, the PSNI said Parry likes words like ‘tickle’ and ‘birdie’ and may try to make contact with people as he loves human attention.

“Parry is an Eclectus parrot who went missing on Friday 14th April at about 1500 hours in the vicinity of Rampart Lane, Lisbellaw,” Police Fermanagh and Omagh said in a post. “He is emerald green in colour with bright red feathers under his wings and with blue on the leading edge of his wings and tail.

“He is a medium sized parrot and friendly, and may also try to make contact with people as he will be hungry and loves human attention. He likes words such as “tickle” and “birdie”. Parry has a distinct silver ring on his right leg.

“He tends to be more vocal in early morning and evening time. Should anyone hear anything like distinctive squaks/shrieks.”

Police have urged anyone who may have sighted Parry to contact them on 101, quoting serial number 1705 16/04/2023.
