PSNI appeal after stolen car recovered in Belfast

Police are continuing to investigate after locating a stolen vehicle in Belfast.

The car, a grey coloured BMW, was taken from the Gibson Street area of West Belfast sometime on Thursday.

A number of hours later, the West Belfast Neighbourhood Team located the vehicle in the Balkan Street area - a short three minute walk from where it was stolen from.

PSNI say their enquiries are continuing, stating: "The vehicle has now been recovered by police and enquiries are continuing to identify any potential suspects."

In an unrelated appeal, police are looking into an incident in the Central Way area of Craigavon on Wednesday evening.

It was reported that a man approached a teenage girl at 6pm and spoke briefly with her before she ran off.

This male is described as being in his 40s, of slim build and with blond hair.

A police spokesperson said: “We are keen to find out more about what happened and our enquiries are continuing.

"We’re therefore asking anyone who was within the Central Way area and nearby footbridge and who saw what happened, to get in contact with police.

"Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting reference number 1569 of 30/03/22, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
