Two young children were present in a property which was targeted in a shooting incident on Sunday.
The PSNI are investigating a report of shots being fired at residential premises at the Belvoir Street area of East Belfast at around 11.30pm last night, January 23.
It was reported that two shots from a shotgun were fired at the house damaging the front door and the front and rear living room windows.
Detective Sergeant McCartan added: "A male in his 20s and a female in her 20s, as well as two young children, were inside the property but were not injured.
"Enquiries are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding this incident and police would appeal to anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 1945 23/01/22.

In other news, police investigating a fatal road traffic collision on the Ravenhill Road in Belfast on Saturday night have charged a 32-year-old man with causing death by dangerous driving and causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving.
He is due to appear via video link before Belfast Magistrates Court today.
