PSG Vs Manchester City Stats Ahead Of Crunch European Clash

It will be PSG vs Manchester City in a mammoth Champions League clash on Wednesday night, so here we take a look at some key stats ahead of the game.

PSG vs Manchester City Stats Ahead Of Wednesday’s 8pm Champions League Clash

Two of football’s financial superpowers collide on Wednesday night – even if the Champions League table suggests otherwise.

Going into Matchday 7, Manchester City are 22nd in the standings and PSG are only 25th with both sides struggling with the new Champions League format.

Unbelievably, both sides are at risk of dropping out of the Champions League with only the top 24 moving on from the current league phase.

Both sides would have held high hopes of finishing in the top-eight which would secure an automatic last-16 spot. However, it appears the best they can hope for is a spot in the play-offs.

Depending on the result, one or both of these sides could be fighting for their Champions League survival in a week’s time.

Man City At Risk Of Defeat At Parc Des Princes

Manchester City could be facing a costly defeat according to the best football betting sites in the UK.

At the time of writing with odds subject to change there’s not much in it between the two sides according to the bookmakers. PSG are 29/20 to take the victory, with a Manchester City win at 17/10 and a draw at 13/5.

The Last Time Man City Visited The Parc Des Princes

Lionel Messi scored a screamer for PSG during their last match with Manchester City at the Parc des Princes.

Manchester City dominated possession but the Ligue 1 side took the lead after Idrissa Gueye punished some poor defending from Riyad Mahrez who half-heartedly reached out for the ball only to poke it towards the midfielder.

Pep Guardiola’s side had a glorious chance when the ball fell to Bernardo Silva after Raheem Sterling headed off the crossbar, only for the Portuguese international to send his effort over the woodwork.

Messi was quiet during the game but after playing a one-two with Kylian Mbappe, he fired an unstoppable effort into the back of the net.

One To Watch: Bradley Barcola

PSG no longer have the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Lionel Messi and instead have a much more youthful look about them.

One player to watch out for is the talented Bradley Barcola – a player who has in the past been linked with Manchester City.

Barcola has 12 goals and four assists for PSG in all competitions this season.

Fortunately for Manchester City, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia will not be available for PSG. The Georgian star can only be registered for the latter stages of the competition.
