PSG to net huge fee for Saudi All-Star XI friendly featuring Cristiano Ronaldo

Paris Saint-Germain will reportedly receive a huge fee of £8.8million for playing a one-off friendly with the Saudi All-Star XI, a team that will feature former Manchester United forward, Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese forward superstar is finally making his first appearance since moving to Saudi Arabia, but it isn't going to be for his new club, Al-Nassr. Ronaldo signed for the Saudi outfit more than two weeks ago, but with a ban hanging over his head as a result of his behaviour in a clash with Everton in April 2022, he is yet to make an appearance in the Saudi Pro League.

Nevertheless, he's free to play in an all-star XI exhibition clash with Lionel Messi's PSG on Thursday. With plenty of people focusing on Ronaldo's imminent debut, little attention has been paid to the substantial fee that the Parisian outfit will be walking away with.

According to L'Equipe, the Ligue 1 champions will pocket £8.8million [€10m] for playing in the one-off game. The match will take place on Thursday in Riyadh and will likely play host to the final time Lionel Messi and Ronaldo face-off on a football pitch during their professional careers.

Messi has also been linked with a move to the Saudi Pro-League recently, with both Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal prepared to offer him a staggering £306m-a-year, according to reports in Spain (via the Daily Mail). Meanwhile, Al-Nassr head coach Rudi Garcia has reportedly held talks with Eden Hazard, in a move that could see the former Chelsea star make up an incredibly exciting attack alongside Ronaldo.
