PSG target shock Robert Lewandowski move while Luis Suarez 'in talks' with new club

Erik ten Hag is interested in signing another Dutchman for Manchester United while Manchester City stars have been targeted to replace another star on the wishlist of their rivals.

Southampton have made an offer for a Swedish midfielder playing in Serie A while an on-loan Arsenal star does not want to return to the Emirates Stadium:

There is news on the futures of three South Americans who were big names in the Premier League, including former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez, plus the latest on Robert Lewandowski's next move. Mirror Sport rounds up all of the transfer news in the European media.

Lewandowski latest

The Pole wants to leave Bayern Munich despite a year left on his contract and Barcelona were the favourites to sign him. But L’Equipe have claimed that Paris Saint-German want Lewandowski in their attack alongside Kylian Mbappe and Lionel Messi.

While Barcelona are struggling to pay at €40m transfer fee and €20m a year in wages, the laws of economics are apparently no problem for Qatari-owned PSG. The problem would be then getting Mauro Icardi or Neymar, both of whom are on huge deals, moved on from the club.

Former Saints and Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino was finally sacked by Paris Saint-Germain last weekend with the Argentine reported to favour a return to the Premier League. But Marca claims the Argentine has not ruled out an approach from Athletic Bilbao and the Spanish paper reports there have already been talks between his camp and a candidate in the club’s presidential elections.

Suarez to River Plate

Former Liverpool and Barcelona star Suarez, who is out of contract at Atletico Madrid, is in talks to join the Argentine giants. Marca reports that the Uruguayan has spoken to president Jorge Brito and coach Marcelo Gallardo.

Gallardo is quoted by Football Espana as saying he “spoke with him [Suarez], I know him, I have good relationship. I have a lot of respect for him as a player and a person. I got in contact with him to see what was down the line for him and if he wanted to come to Argentine football, to an institution like ours, to have competition and to arrive in good shape at the World Cup he so desires.”

Double Dutch for United

There will be up to 13 first-team players leaving Inter Milan this summer, reports Gazzetta dello Sport. And the Italian sports daily reports two centre-backs will also be available with PSG after Slovak Milan Skriniar while Manchester United are monitoring Stefan de Vrij.

The Dutchman is out of contract in 2023 and has yet to agree a new deal. Gazzetta also reports that Southampton have made a €10m for Bologna’s Mattias Svanberg. The Swede, 23, plays in central midfield.

United have also been linked with Barcelona’s Frenkie De Jong. And if goes, the Catalan club want Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva as his replacement, according to radio Cadena SER. This would require the cash-strapped Camp Nou club to pay the Portuguese’s €93m buyout clause.

The radio station says Ikay Gundogan, who is out of contract in June 2023, would be a cheaper alternative.

Torreira wants La Viola stay

Uruguayan midfielder Lucas Torreira, who is under contract at Arsenal until June 2023, wants to stay in Serie A or somewhere else other than the Gunners.

He told Ovacion TV: “The idea is to be able to stay at Fiorentina. If that is not possible, then I will seek another club where I will be able to develop.”
