A Paris Saint-Germain insider has sensationally blasted Kylian Mbappe and told him his exit letter to top brass was needless.
The world superstar – regarded by many as the best player on the planet – has told PSG bigwigs he is reaching the end game in the French capital and wants out next season at the latest. Mbappe has one year remaining on his current deal but he has no intention of sticking around beyond that and now a stunning summer exit appears as inevitability.
The world's biggest clubs lie in wait, however, there is a long-standing belief only Real Madrid will do for the France icon – 12 months after he left them at the altar and penned a two-year extension to remain with PSG. But circumstances have changed and Mbappe is poised to follow Lionel Messi out the exit door with Neymar also facing a bleak future in the French capital.
A source with ongoing knowledge of the developing situation – speaking to the I – appeared to add weight to growing belief the club and their star man can no longer co-exist in the wake of his bombshell letter. They stated: “It is all just very tiring for everyone at the club. This is all so needless.” The anger from within one of the world's richest teams follows Mbappe's statement to AFP, in which he insisted his letter to the top of the Qatari-backed side was merely good housekeeping as he reaffirmed his stance.
Mbappe said: “PSG’s administrative council has been informed since 15th July 2022 of my decision not to extend beyond 2024 and the letter that was sent only served to confirm what I had already told them.”
