Paris Saint-Germain will attempt to beat Manchester United to the signing of Tottenham star Harry Kane this summer.
United boss Erik ten Hag is on red alert as he searches for the final piece of the jigsaw at Old Trafford and he has decided England’s skipper is that man. The Spurs striker will be on the market after yet another campaign of disappointment with the north Londoners.
Spurs striker Kane, 29, is on Ten Hag’s target list but the club are aware Tottenham supremo Daniel Levy is a tough negotiator and the club are wary about being drawn into a prolonged transfer saga similar to the one they were involved in with Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong last year.
United’s pursuit of Kane is likely to be complicated further by PSG looking at the England star, with Le Parisien outlining how the club’s sporting director Luis Campos is planning a move for Kane as the Ligue 1 champions look to freshen up their attacking options.
It is detailed how there is a strong relationship between PSG chief Nasser Al-Khelaifi and his Spurs counterpart Levy. The two met in London earlier this year to discuss potential investment into the North London club, but the two are respectful of each other’s positions.
The French club are likely to be shaking up their attack this summer with the future of Lionel Messi unclear, while a theoretical move for Kane could give Kylian Mbappe more freedom to play in his preferred attacking position from the left, combining with a central option, as he does for France.

United are prioritising the signing of a central striker this summer. Wout Weghorst's loan deal from Burnley expires at the end of the campaign and Anthony Martial is expected to depart Old Trafford following another injury-blighted season.
That leaves Marcus Rashford as the club’s only recognised senior striker and the in-form England international prefers playing on the left side of an attack than centrally. Kane would be an ideal fit for this United side and would fill a key position in which they are currently short.
There is great admiration for Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos and Mohammed Kudus, whom Ten Hag coached at Ajax. Eintracht Frankfurt striker Randal Kolo Muani and Atalanta goalscorer Rasmus Hojlund are also being monitored, with Napoli superstar Victor Osimhen another target but whose price valuation may be prohibitive.
