PSG boss laughs off Chelsea’s interest in Presnel Kimpembe - but cannot rule out a sale amid £50m links

New Paris Saint-Germain boss Christophe Galtier claims he laughed off news of Chelsea’s interest in Presenl Kimpembe - but still cannot rule out a sale to the Blues.

Thomas Tuchel’s side remain keen on a new central defender despite signing Kalidou Koulibaly for £33million, having lost Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen earlier in the summer.

PSG reportedly want around £50m for France international Kimpembe and Les Parisiens’ coach has cheekily stated that he was surprised by the news.

On the deal, Galtier told L’Equipe: “I’ve read everything that has been said about Kimpembe.

“We even laughed about it together!”

However, Galtier admitted that he cannot guarantee Kimpembe’s future at PSG.

He added: “I like him – he’s a great centre-back but what will happen, I don’t know.”

Chelsea have reignited their interest in Jules Kounde of Sevilla since missing out on Nathan Ake with a move for Matthijs de Ligt complicated by Bayern Munich’s determination to sign the Juventus defender.
