PS5 bundle deals: save on brand new releases like Hogwarts Legacy and Forspoken

UK retailer Argos is currently offering the PS5 with options to bundle it with brand new games that you're getting at a discount.

It seems like PS5 consoles are no longer hard to get after a few years of trouble. So for those who couldn't be bothered with faffing about trying to get limited-time drops of the system, now is the time to get on board. Argos is currently offering a few bundles for the system that may help you save some money on some brand new game releases.

Until next Tuesday you can pick up the system and a copy of Forspoken for £25 off off if you buy it along with the PS5, coming to a total of £509.99. Also on offer until mid-March is a Hogwarts Legacy which is £20 off when bought with the console, coming to a total of £516.98. Plus, If you’re not a fan of Forspoken or completely mid looking AAA titles you can always resell the games to get an extra saving on the system itself, and buy a better game on the ongoing PS Plus Double Discounts sale.

Another good deal from Argos is the PS5 DualSense controller and FIFA 23 bundle, which has dropped from £100 to £69.99. A PS5 controller on its own goes for £59.99 (if you're not interested in the fancy colourways), so having the game thrown in for a tenner isn’t a bad deal (plus, like before, you could always sell FIFA if football isn’t your thing).

PS5-Alive

Everything’s coming up Sony; the company recently announced that it's ramping up PS5 production ahead of the PSVR 2’s launch next week, on Tuesday, February 21. This move has clearly worked out, with Chris Dring of GamesIndustry.biz reporting that PS5 sales in January 2023 were up 200% compared to sales in January 2022.

Sony's Q3 financial results revealed that PS5 console sales have surpassed 32million and now that the hardware is easier to get hold of, that figure could see a marked increase pretty quickly. Whatever way you look at it, PlayStation is continuing to ride on the momentum from last gen which saw the PS4 demolish the Xbox One, selling twice as many units over the lifetime of the consoles.

Microsoft is notorious for not sharing the sales figures of its hardware, but the information came to light in Brazilian court documents (via Business Insider) in which the company admitted that "Sony has surpassed Microsoft in terms of console sales and installed base, having sold more than twice as many Xbox in the last generation," which is no doubt in part to Sony's strong lineup of platform exclusives.
