PS Plus games leaving in April, from Animal Well to Slay the Spire and more

PS Plus subscribers only have a month to play a bunch of excellent games before they’re dumped from the gaming service.

Like clockwork, Sony is gearing up to remove a bunch of titles from the platform’s catalogue just days after revealing the incoming titles for March, which land on Tuesday.

Eight games in total are on the chopping block in April and, as most of them are smaller indies with short play times, you should be able to race through a few of them before they’re gone.

We’ve listed the full line-up below, all of which will be removed around mid-April:

Not sure where to start? Dive into Animal Well, a meticulously crafted puzzle game that sees you exploring a labyrinthine cave teeming with luminescent secrets and ethereal inhabitants.

One of last year’s most acclaimed games, its hypnotic charm is hard to resist. Oh, and did we mention you play as a little yellow blob?

At a time when gamers are being spoon-fed an endless barrage of faceless live-service shooters, Animal Well is the kind of strikingly original title the industry so desperately needs. The game is leaving PS Plus just shy of a year after its debut as a rare day-one release on the platform.

When you’ve ticked that off, be sure to check out Kena: Bridge of Spirits, an action RPG for all ages that should appeal to fans of Nintendo’s greatest hits, including Zelda and Pikmin.

And if Balatro has given you a taste for strategic card games, then give Slay the Spire a chance. The goal is to build a deck of attack, defense, and ability cards to battle a series of strange and deadly monsters, with each run offering new challenges, rewards, and surprises.

As usual, PS Plus Extra subscribers can download any of these games while they’re still available, while Premium members can also stream them.
